Corona positive patient attacks doctors at Gandhi hospital in Hyderabad after sibling succumbs to virus

Hyderabad: Relatives of a deceased Coronavirus patient attacked doctors at
Gandhi hospital in
Hyderabad accusing them of negligence in their duties.

According to information available, two brothers from a family tested positive and were undergoing treatment here. One of the brothers succumbed on Wednesday evening. His relatives were enraged and resorted to the attack on the doctors and staff.

This is the third Coronavirus death at Gandhi hospital and seventh in Telangana.

City police commissioner
Anjani Kumar rushed to the hospital and personally controlled the situation. The attacker was taken into custody and was moved to another isolation ward.

In Maharashtra, the number of coronavirus cases increased by 33 to 335. Thirty of these cases were found in Mumbai alone, two in Pune and one in Buldhana. At least 5,000 people have also been quarantined.

Junior doctors expressed fears to work under such insecure conditions.

The state government took serious note of the attack on doctors, who have been rendering services risking their lives. Health minister E Rajender said the government would get the highest possible punishment for the accused.

The incident happened when chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Rajender, DGP M Mahender Reddy were in discussion with Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan at Raj Bhavan on Corona related issues.

Minister Rajender issued a statement condemning the attack and assuring the doctors and staff of all protection. He appealed to them not to be disturbed by a stray incident.
