BHOPAL: More than 1500 people have participated in the feast thrown by the family whose 11 members were tested positive for
coronavirus in
Morena district of
Madhya Pradesh.

Officials seized a diary from the patients house on Saturday where the names of all invitees has been written. The diary is being analysed and teams have been sent in all five blocks whose people were invited.

In Morena a couple were tested positive on Thursday. Of 2, the male member had returned from
Dubai recently. On Friday district collector
Priyanka Das said, “10 new positive patients were found and all are family members of the same couple. It includes brother and sister-in-law of first positive patient and 8 kids of the two couple. The youngest among the kids is below 10 years and eldest is around 13-year-old”.

Cheif medical and health officer Morena,
Dr RC Badil said “On Friday evening we came to know that the patient who had come from Dubai after her mother’s death had thrown a funeral feast where between 1500- and 2000 people from villages across five blocks had participated”.

“This happened on March 20, as per orders issued till then, no function where more than 50 people participate was allowed, but so many people participated in it. He was reluctant to provide information but on pressurising he informed about a diary which contains the list of invitees. It has been recovered in the afternoon from his house. We are analysing it. In the meantime teams have been sent to all the five blocks. And in some villages people are coming out on their own. All those with symptoms would be hospital quarantined and those without symptoms would be home isolated”, he said.
