The COVID-19 case tally has crossed the 3,000 mark in Mumbai as 155 more tested positive on Monday, 20 April . The death toll in the city has reached 138 after 7 more deaths.
The total number of positive cases in India on Monday rose to 17,656 with the number of deaths standing at over 559 according to the data released by the ministry of health and family welfare.
The doubling rate for coronavirus which was 3.4 days before lockdown is now 7.5 days, according to the health ministry.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Home Affairs has objected to Kerala government giving ‘additional relaxation’ during the lockdown, after the state had allowed the opening of restaurants and MSME industries in municipal areas among others.
The Kerala government said there was some “misunderstanding”, due to which the Centre had objected to dilution of the lockdown protocol.
