Trump is on a two-day visit to India with extensive schedule panned out in the national capital, Ahmedabad and Agra. “President Kovind and his wife, Savita Kovind have extended an invite to the chief minister to take part in the state banquet in Rashtrapati Bhavan. The chief minister may attend the event scheduled to take place at 8pm,” said a source. Palaniswami has programmes lined up in Chennai and Salem on February 24 on the occasion of former chief minister J Jayalalithaa’s birth anniversary celebrations.
In October, the state government led by Palaniswami had hosted the informal summit between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Mamallapuram.
