The United Nations Disaster Management Team is in contact with the Government of Uttarakhand, the National Disaster Management Authority, the State InterAgency Group, Sphere India and bilateral agencies for regular information sharing and coordination.The UNDMT is responding to the request to support the State Government with their rapid needs assessment and strategic coordination efforts at State and District levels.

The United Nations Disaster Management Team (UNDMT) is a core team of the United Nations Country Team in India. On behalf of the UN Resident Coordinator, the UNDMT is led by UNICEF. Currently 12 UN Agencies comprise the UNDMT including APCTT, FAO,UNAIDS,UNDP, UNESCAP, UNFPA, UN-HABITAT, UNICEF,UNIDO, WFP and WHO.
