Perched atop the lonely Chandrabadani mountain near Devprayag, the Chandrabadani Devi Temple completes the holy Shaktipeeth triad of Tehri Garhwal alongside Surkanda and Kunjapuri. According to the Skanda Purana, the torso of Goddess Sati dropped here. Uniquely, there is no sculpted statue within the inner sanctum; instead, a sacred Sri Yantra carved on natural bedrock is kept covered under a silk canopy, seen only by the head priest during blindfolded rituals.
