District Magistrate Mayur Dixit flagged off a mountain biking cycle rally with in Tehri Garhwal

On the occasion of World Tourism Day, on September 27, 2023, the District Magistrate Mayur Dixit flagged off a mountain biking cycle rally with a green flag in Tehri Garhwal.

Under the guidance of the Tourism Department, the mountain biking cycle rally started from Hanuman Chowk in New Tehri and proceeded through Daijar-Ghonabaghi-Badshahi Thaul, concluding at Pakshikunj.

The cycle rally saw participation from the youth of ITBP Koti Colony and Nehru Youth Center in New Tehri. Additionally, a cleanliness drive was conducted at Pakshikunj as part of the Swachhata Seva Pakhwada (Cleanliness Service Fortnight) program, and an art competition was organized, in which students from various schools participated.

Atul Bhandari, the District Tourism Development Officer, mentioned that this year’s World Tourism Day had the theme of “Tourism and Green Investment.” In accordance with this theme, a mountain biking cycle rally was organized from Hanuman Chowk to Pakshikunj, a cleanliness campaign was conducted at Pakshikunj, and an art competition was held. The art competition and cleanliness drive at Pakshikunj was attended by the Member of Legislative Assembly, Kishor Upadhyay.

As part of the Sweep Program, organized by the District Election Office, an awareness campaign for increasing voter turnout in the upcoming General Elections of 2024 was also conducted.

During this occasion, certificates and awards were presented to the first, second, and third-place winners among the students who participated in the art competition, along with certificates for other participants.
