Dehradun, December 12: The 10th World Ayurveda Congress (WAC 2024) commenced today at the Parade Grounds, marked by a traditional ‘havan’ performed by the Sadhikas (women volunteers) of the Dhyan Foundation. This ritual, rooted in ancient Indian customs, aims to purify the space and mindset of participants, fostering positive energy for the significant discussions to follow.
Emphasizing the Significance of Ayurveda
According to Rima Anand, a Sadhika from the Delhi-based Dhyan Foundation, the ‘havan’ symbolizes the purification of both the environment and the thoughts of those involved in this vital gathering. She remarked, “Ayurveda is an integral part of our Vedic Science, viewing the world as one family and asserting that all scientific endeavors should benefit humanity.”
“Only India can teach the world Ayurveda in its purest and unadulterated form,” said Rima Anand, emphasizing the foundation’s commitment to promoting Vedic knowledge as inspired by Ashwini Guruji.
