Freedom Fighter and journalist Jitendra Pal, born 26 Feb.1914 in a village in Comilla ( now in Bangladesh), He was arrested in 1929, 1931, 1933 and 1937 by the British Government for taking part in the freedom movement. Later he escaped to Tripura state. From 1949 to 1984 he was an active Journalist based in Agartala-Tripura, where he still resides. After independence also he remained active on social and political issues and because of this between 1953 and 1981 he was arrested 6 times by the state governments. He says that now the situation is worst than in the British Regime. There was justice then and now its all party politics and party interest.
